Gas Detection Training

Coal Mines Technical Services (CMTS) can provide custom designed gas detection training courses, which can be tailored for specific gas detection devices, depending on the customer’s requirements. As with our gas awareness courses, they can be delivered as simple 1-2 hour informative sessions, or advanced 1-2 days duration modules that include formal practical and theoretical assessments.

The courses typically cover the types of gas detection devices that are currently available for use, their application, operation, detection range, limitations and operational functions.

The courses would normally also include a gas awareness component so that the trainee is conversant with the particular type of gases that are monitored by the various gas detection sensors, including such topics as toxicity, flammability, response, etc.
